LOOKING FOR A PLACE TO STAY IN FAROE ISLANDS DURING 2018 SUMMER

Jason and I , Romanie, are a couple from Ibiza who are searching for a
place to rent or exchange for ours during the Summer months of next year 2018.
I´m a painter and I´m currently developing a new project and want to be
away from my environment to do so. Jason is a chess player and also needs this
time to develop a tool to teach chess he is working on.
Ideally we would like to rent from the end of May till the beginning of
October. If there is other availabilities we would adapt in that time. The
minimum time we would like to be in Faroe islands is for two months.
I
have been checking out the rentals online and I can only find touristic rentals
at very high prices per night in shared places.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
An
independent home, it can be an apartment in town or an isolated barn far away,
we don´t care about that. It would need a minimum of two spaces in it. One room
that can be used to paint in (I paint very cleanly, I don´t splash or throw
paint around) and an other space that could be the living room or an extra room
where Jason would be able to work on his computer. We would need running water,
heating, electricity and internet.
We are very flexible as far as comforts, we
have travelled a lot and can adapt to many kinds of spaces, although I guess we
need heating in a cold place like the Faroe Islands.
Originally I was looking for an Artist
Residency Program or a Artist Exchange Program and although I have got in
contact with two of your organisations I found they had no availability so I
thought we would try a different way.
We come from a very busy island,
overpopulated in summer and most summers we try to leave to a quieter and
fresher environment.

ABOUT US
Both
Jason and I are half English and half Spanish but brought up in Ibiza, a small
island in the Mediterranean. We speak fluent English, Spanish and Catalan.
We
have been together for 16 years and don´t have children. We are quite sociable but like a lot of quiet
time to read, study and create.
I´m 41 and I have spent most of my life painting and
developing my art but I have also been a fire fighter for ten years. I
currently combine my art with creativity classes for children.
Jason is 46 and has knowledge in woodwork, graphic design,
chess and electricity. He mainly works on his properties while doing other
short term projects. He dedicated many years of his life to cycling and then
had to stop due to health issues.
We are both great walkers and love mountain
biking and exploring.

In the past I have exchanged my art work for a place to stay for two months. This would also be an option if the other part would be interested. I have done this is in Italy, Canada, California, Portugal and various places in Spain.
We are looking for a cheap or fair rent for
either two or four months in Faroe Islands.
As we are artists we aren´t rich and find a way to either exchange or
find someone who would like to rent to us.
OUR HOME IN IBIZA.
Our
home in Ibiza is a ground floor house in a residential area outside of the town
of
San Antonio.

The house has three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a living room, kitchen and a nice terrace. It is surrounded by a garden. We have all the normal facilities and a parking just at the entrance. It is 500m away from the beach and two minute walk from supermarkets and any groceries. Main town is a 15 minute walk along the promenade.
In Summer our nearest town is very busy and full of tourists with lots going on 24 hours a day. Our home fortunately is just out of that region and we have quiet neighbours. If we exchanged homes with someone we would have to make it clear it´s not to party in and we also don´t have dogs in this community. Only cats.

Renting a room in somebody else´s home and
share I don´t think would be an option because we need to spend many hours
working a day and not get side tracked with other rhythms of life nearby. Our
work is a bit like a writers, where you need many hours in silence, quite
introspective.
